Henry Purcell

In our modern day portrayal of Purcell’s original opera, Dido is struggling with her mental health after the death of her husband. The story sees her failing in love with Aeneas, who, when told to return to war, breaks Dido’s heart. This portrayal of Dido and Aeneas features themes of mental health, as well as implying Dido’s death.
